Spider Pride

Multitasking is something that comes pretty easily to our motivated student body. Everywhere you look, you may find someone starting their own business or showcasing both their athletic and musical talents. Over in the law school, we’ve come across one 1L who is accustomed to setting records.

Ave Grosenheider, ’19 and L’22, set the school’s cross-country record in the indoor 3K — and now she’s setting another record as the only Spider to compete as a varsity athlete while enrolled in law school. She is able to complete her fourth year of NCAA eligibility after redshirting due to an injury in her first undergrad year. As one of our 66 scholar-athletes during the 2018–19 school year, she said UR is a place where students are encouraged to pursue all of their interests to the best of their ability.

“The scholar athlete honor shows that these pursuits are not mutually exclusive,” Grosenheider said.

We loving hearing about all of our double Spiders’ journeys!
