Double alum elected to lead statewide association
Spider Pride
January 30, 2019
It’s pretty natural for alums to find themselves in leadership positions. And when they’re double Spiders — a little moniker we like to give people who loved us so much they graduated twice — there’s no question about their clout.
Richard E. Garriott Jr., R’91 & L’96, was just elected the new president of the Virginia Bar Association, the state’s first and largest voluntary bar association. Another fun fact is that he’s the first VBA president from Virginia Beach. We should also mention that this new position is in addition to his day job as a family law and civil litigation attorney with Pender & Coward.
Congratulations on your appointment, Richard!
