Cleveland Cavs select Spider as new assistant coach
Spider Pride
Our #SpiderPride swells when we learn of alums who are really excelling in their careers. Today is no different because one of our own just got a big promotion — and his office happens to be the Cleveland Cavaliers.
For those of us who may not be up to speed with professional basketball, this means the NBA has selected Spider grad Dan Geriot, ’11, to be an assistant coach for the Cavs. He’s now believed to be one of the youngest coaches in the NBA. Since 2015, he has been with the Cavs as a player development coach.
While at Richmond, the 6-foot-8 forward led us to the Sweet 16 of the 2011 NCAA tournament. We’re so proud he’s now repping the Spider Family on such a big national stage. Congratulations, Dan! We can’t wait to follow along this season.
