We love it when we see others catching on to the things we already recognize about our favorite university. It gives us a chance to celebrate the pride we have for our alma mater and brings well deserved attention to our stellar academics.

In U.S. News & World Report’s latest rankings for 2019, our law school just achieved its highest ranking ever, clocking in at No. 50. The seven-point jump from last year marks the largest change in position for any of Virginia’s five ranked law schools this year.

Our reputation can be largely attributed to our impressive faculty, and the examples are plentiful. Professor Andy Spalding recently brought a group of students to South Korea — he used the Olympics to help his students better understand the role and impact of anticorruption at the international level. Carl Tobias is an expert on the federal judicial nomination process, and national reporters seek him out for his commentary on current events. And our dean, Wendy Perdue, is presently serving as president of the Association of American Law Schools.

This latest law ranking doesn’t surprise us, but it certainly underscores what Spiders already know about the quality of Richmond Law and its commitment to excellence. Go, Spiders!
