Spider golfer Matt Lowe shatters course record
Spider Pride
Many people take the summer to recuperate. Not Spiders! We’re seemingly nonstop even in the heat of summer doldrums.
We’re proud of the news this week about rising senior Matt Lowe’s spectacular performance at the Century Golf Club in Purchase, New York.
Playing in the Metropolitan Golf Association’s Ike Championship, Lowe set a new course record in the third round on his way to taking home the title. His 10-under-par 61 shattered the previous course record by three strokes and registered as the lowest round in the 60-year history of the tournament.
“It was definitely one of the best golf days of my life,” Lowe told local news website LoHud.com.
This is the latest feat for Lowe, who during the regular golf season helped Richmond men’s golf capture its first Atlantic 10 title.
Look out, world! Could there be another Spider at the PGA Tour someday?
