Spider Pride
This picture is making us smile this week!
President Crutcher volunteered to help students and teachers celebrate Dr. Seuss Day at Overby-Sheppard Elementary School in Richmond, even momentarily trading his trademark Spider baseball cap for a hat more befitting of a Dr. Seuss celebrant.
Dr. Crutcher celebrated Dr. Seuss Day by reading Heart Picked: Elizabeth’s Adoption Tale. to Mrs. Robinson’s first-grade class. Reading this book had special meaning for Dr. Crutcher, as it was written by his daughter, Sara Crutcher.
Dr. Seuss Day was established in 1997 by the National Education Association to get kids excited about reading while also honoring children's author Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss. National Read Across America Day is celebrated on Dr. Seuss's birthday, which is March 2.
