The University of Richmond biology department for the last two years has called on members of the community to show their work — and their creativity — in action, as part of their annual photo contest. The result is a diverse collection, says biology professor Amy Treonis, who led the effort.
“We get a lot of photos of study organisms taken in the field or in the laboratory with a microscope,” Treonis said. “We also see a lot of wonderful landscape photos, often taken by students studying abroad or doing field work associated with their research projects. A few photos have been taken as part of a photography class by a biology student. It’s great to see the cross-curricular synergy.”
