Robins School of Business earns high rankings in 2021

The University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business has earned its best ranking ever from a leading publication. Coming in at No. 23 among all undergraduate business schools in 2021, UR jumped three spots from last year in Poets&Quants, the leading news source for undergraduate business education.
“It is gratifying to see the hard work and dedication of our faculty and staff in providing students with a transformative business education be reflected in these rankings,” said Mickey Quiñones, dean of the Robins School. “Of course, it is not rankings per se that we seek, but to make a positive difference in the lives of our students."
The Robins School also ranked No. 14 in employment outcomes and No. 26 in admissions standards. The ranking methodology includes admissions standards, academic experience, and career outcomes data. Poets&Quants for Undergrads compiled the 2021 rankings based on a representative survey of over 6,100 alumni and school-reported data. Recent grads across 93 schools were surveyed on aspects of faculty, extracurricular opportunities, and accessibility of the alumni network.
Among other firsts for the business school, the Student Managed Investment Fund closed above $1 million for the first time in history on Jan. 20. Established in 1993, the fund was designed to give students real-time experience in portfolio management with oversight from faculty advisors.
“Despite the tumultuous environment we’ve been working in, every member of SMIF has been able to adapt,” said senior Michael Ukrainskyj, the fund’s general manager. “Without the great leadership from our head managers and commitment of all members, we would not have been able to reach this achievement.”
Last month, the Robins School was named to The Princeton Review’s best on-campus MBA list, which is based on a combination of institutional and student survey data, including career outcomes, admissions selectivity, and academic rigor. UR scored high in academic experience, as well as interesting and accessible professors. About the Richmond MBA, students say the program does a fantastic job of creating a “very supportive and collaborative” environment.
