The University of Richmond is providing a number of voting resources as well as post-election programming for the Spider community.

The Bonner Center for Civic Engagement, which supports political learning and engagement during the election season and beyond, created the “We the People” discussion series. The initiative promoted meetings, forums, lectures, and events to help students, faculty, and staff become informed about politics, voting, and engagement opportunities. The center also created a voting guide, which includes information about important deadlines, absentee voting, and ID requirements for Election Day voting.

Richmond Athletics has also encouraged civic engagement by creating its Spiders Vote Initiative site to encourage voter registration, education, and participation.

"We all have the ability to make an impact in this country by exercising our right to vote, and I am very proud that our Spider student-athletes, coaches and staff members are willing to take a collaborative leadership role in this important area," said Vice President and Director of Athletics John Hardt.

After the election, an additional series of programs will be available to support the campus community. UR Well, the Office of the Chaplaincy, and CAPS continue to offer well-being services and programs. A guide to post-election events and resources is on the CCE’s website.

On Nov. 11, Mary Kate Cary, former speechwriter for President George H.W. Bush, and Mary Anne Marsh, Democratic political analyst and consultant, will offer insights on the election results as part of the Sharp Viewpoint Speaker Series. This free, livestreamed event begins at 7 p.m. and is open to the public. Registration is required.
